SHIPPING & ASSEMBLY

Getting your bike ready to roll is as easy as installing your Handlebar, Front Wheel and Pedals. Let’s go over how to get you rolling!

  1. Using your box cutter or strong scissors, cut the top of the box so you have access to your bicycle. Remove the bike from the box by pulling the bike up and out of the box. Be careful not to damage the bike or yourself.
  2. Retrieve the small parts box at the bottom of the bicycle box and set the aside for future use. This includes the owners manuals, skewer or front axle if applicable and your pedals.
  3. Using a strong pair of scissors cut and strip all of the additional packaging off of your bike. Be careful not to cut any cables, spokes or damage the finish on your bike while doing so.
  4. Install the handlebar. With your bike resting upright on its rear wheel and front fork remove the stem face plate using a 4mm or 5mm allen wrench. Then slide and center the handlebars into place. Tighten the bolts again in a cross pattern until the handlebar is in place. Lastly tighten to the recommended torque spec of 4-6Nm or what is marked on your stem.
  5. Install the front wheel. The front wheel is held in place by a quick-release thru axle. To install the wheel, line up the front wheel underneath the fork dropouts and pull upwards and into place. You will feel the hub make contact and come to a stop when it is fully seated. Take your thru-axle and slide it into place going through your fork leg, hub/wheel and lastly the second fork leg. Tighten clockwise and torque to the recommended spec of 10-15Nm or what is marked on your stem.
  6. Install the pedals. The pedals are threaded onto the crankarms. Keep in mind pedals are Right (Drive side) and Left (Non-Drive side) specific. Differentiate between Right and Left pedal by looking at the pedal axle just above the threads, you will find the axle is stamped with a R for Right (Drive side) or L for Left (Non-Drive side). Another distinguishing mark is the Left (Non-Drive side) Pedal will have Vertical ridges running along the axle while the Right (Drive side) Pedal will have a smooth axle.
  7. Take your Right pedal and apply grease onto the axle threads. Position the pedal threads next to the Drive side threads of the crank (this is the side of the crank that has the chainrings/gears attached to it, it is also the side of the bike which you pedal with your right foot). Using your fingers thread the pedal clockwise three full turns. Now using your 15mm pedal wrench tighten the rest of the way and torque to 30Nm.
  8. Take your Left pedal and apply grease onto the axle threads. Position the pedal threads next to the Non-Drive side threads of the crank (this is the side of the cranks with no gear attached to it, it is also the side of the bike which you pedal with your left foot. Using your fingers thread the pedal counterclockwise three full turns. Now using your 15mm pedal wrench tighten the rest of the way and torque to 30Nm.
  9. Inflate the tires. Use a tire pump to inflate the tires to the recommended pressure listed on your tires or in your owner's manual.
  10. Adjust the seat height. The seatpost should be adjusted so that you have a comfortable riding position. You can adjust your seat height by loosening the seat collar using a 4 or 5mm allen wrench. Slide the seat post up and down to desired height. Retighten to 4-6Nm or what is marked on your seat collar.
  11. Your bikes drivetrain and brake systems have already been professionally adjusted by our service team.
  12. Please recycle your bike box and packaging materials.
  13. Enjoy your new bike!

Aethos: Billions of calculations in the pursuit of one thing—the perfect ride. It’s more than just a motto, it’s a philosophy. The Aethos has been designed to straddle the line between a perfected ride quality, extreme light weight, and undeniable style, and this Expert model is no exception.

With wireless SRAM Rival eTap AXS electronic shifting and hydraulic disc brakes paired with bomb-proof Roval C38 Disc carbon wheels, you have the perfect steed to get you out on the road.

FEATURES

  • The Aethos frame has been designed with the perfect combination of ultimate ride feel, light weight, and style—from accelerating up steep pitches and descending technical descents, to all-day saddle comfort on even the longest coffee rides, the Aethos hits the mark. But how, you ask? By reinventing the traditional road shape found on bikes of the past, we’ve subtly altered these shapes to deliver massive gains in stiffness and balance, all without affecting weight or durability. Pair that with an entirely new layup and process that we’ve perfected over multiple decades and you have the lightest frame out there (585 grams, S-Works, size 56cm). The Aethos is more than just a new bike, it’s the first of a new breed.
  • A featherweight frame is useless without confidence-inspiring ride characteristics, which is why we’ve developed the Aethos to have the perfect balance of front and rear stiffness combined with exceptional ride quality. By studying the flexing and breathing of carbon fiber, we were able to discover groundbreaking findings about how forces flow through frames. Just a few pedal strokes and you’ll realize this sublime ride sets a new standard.
  • Every detail, from the derailleur hangers to the fork expander plug have been designed with style, weight, and durability in mind. We’ve also spec’d it with Roval’s all-new Alpinist carbon seatpost, further saving weight and improving ride characteristics. Everything in pursuit for the perfect ride.
